Preparing for Your Migration from PastorsLine

Before you start the migration process, taking a few minutes to review your PastorsLine account will help ensure a smooth transition. Here's what to do ahead of time and what to expect along the way.

Before you migrate:

  • Review your contacts, groups, and campaigns in PastorsLine. Decide what you want to bring over and clean up any outdated or duplicate records first.

  • Note that scheduled group messages and campaigns do not migrate. Write down what you have scheduled so you can re-create them in Text In Church after the move.

  • Download or export any conversation history you want to reference. Only the last 6 months of conversation history can be brought over, and it will not appear in your Text In Church Inbox — see the contact's profile to access it.

  • Let your team know about the upcoming change. There will be a brief period when messaging is unavailable while your phone number transfers.

Phone number transfer timeline:

The transfer of your phone number from PastorsLine to Text In Church typically takes 1-2 hours when initiated Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. EST. Outside those hours, the transfer may take up to a couple of days. During the transfer, messaging will be down and you may temporarily lose access to your PastorsLine account.

Setting up your account:

  • When registering, use your personal cell phone number — not your PastorsLine number or a VoIP number — so you can receive 2FA verification codes.

  • Once migration is complete, an email invitation is automatically sent to all migrated users to set up their accounts. If it doesn't appear in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder.

After migrating — things to watch for:

  • "Start My Membership" button: After migrating, your account may be placed on a short free trial to sync your billing with your next scheduled payment date. You do not need to click this button — doing so will end the trial early and start a paid membership. Let the trial expire naturally.

  • Voice Broadcasts missing: If you don't see Voice Broadcasts when creating a new message, contact support and ask for it to be enabled for your account.

  • Conversation history: If you selected to bring over conversation history, go to People, open the contact's profile, and click Messages in the upper right corner, then click View Conversation History. Only the last 6 months are available, and conversations with account admins are excluded.

  • People who were active in a campaign: Campaign participants don't migrate automatically. You'll need to activate your campaigns in Text In Church and add people manually if needed.
