Troubleshooting the Breeze Integration

How to resolve sync failures and common errors with the Breeze Integration

If the number of people in your Breeze group doesn't match the number in your Text In Church Group, you can review the "Sync Logs" tab in your Text In Church Group to find why specific contacts were not synced.


🛠 Common Reasons a Contact Would Not Be Synced

1. No Contact Information

For a person to sync from Breeze into Text In Church, they must have some basic contact information such as name, email, and/or mobile phone number.

  • The system only uses SMS-enabled phone numbers and pulls from the Mobile phone field.

Resolution:

Add a valid mobile phone number or email address to the contact’s primary information in Breeze.


2. Duplicate Contact

If more than one person in the Breeze group has the same email or phone number, only the first person will be synced into the Text In Church Group. Others will be flagged as duplicates.

Example:
If a husband and wife share the same email or phone number in Breeze, only one of them will sync into Text In Church.

  • Changing the email address for the second person afterward will not work because the duplicate has already been flagged.

Resolution:

Manually add the second contact to Text In Church using unique contact information. We have a great guide, click here!


3. Child Contact

Anyone marked as a “Child” in Breeze will not be brought over via the integration.

Resolution:

You can still add youth by:

  1. Using a CSV import.

  2. Manually adding a youth profile in Text In Church.

  3. Asking the youth to text in using a Keyword and complete a Connect Card.


🔄 Common Reasons a Group Cannot Be Selected to Sync

If a group in Breeze is not available to select during setup in Text In Church, it may be due to its status.

Resolution:

Ensure the group in Breeze has:

  1. “Show in Navigation” toggled ON.

  2. Status set to Active.

Only active, visible groups can be synced into Text In Church.


⚙️ Contacts Not Being Created or Updated as Expected

User Permissions & Security Roles

During the initial setup of the Breeze API key, a User Account is associated with the integration.

If the correct permissions are not granted, the integration may not work as expected.

Resolution:

  1. Ensure that the User Account used for the API key has the necessary admin permissions in Breeze.

  2. Refer to the Breeze API key setup documentation for details.
