The People section in Text In Church lets you view and update contact records, fix contact details, and merge duplicate profiles. This article walks you through how to edit a person's profile and how to merge two contacts into one.

How to Edit a Person's Profile in Text In Church
In the left navigation, click People.
Find the person you want to update and click their name to open their record.
Click the pencil icon in the top right corner of the record to enter edit mode.
Update the information as needed, then click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
What to Do If a Contact Is Linked to a User Account
If a contact is linked to a User in your Text In Church account, you cannot update their information through the People section. You need to update it through Account Settings on desktop instead.
Go to Settings in the left navigation.
Click the Users tab.
Find the user and update their information there.
If the contact information is incorrect but the User information is correct, use this workaround: update the User information to temporarily match the wrong contact information and save it. Then edit the User again and enter the correct information. This forces the contact record to sync with the correct data from the Users tab.
How to Merge Two Contacts in Text In Church
If you have duplicate contact records, you can merge them into one profile. After merging, the final contact will belong to all groups that both original contacts were in, and their conversation histories will be combined into one thread.
In the left navigation, click People.
Select the two contacts you want to merge by checking their checkboxes.
Click Action and choose Merge selected profiles.
Review the two contacts shown on screen. Click Next Step at the bottom right to continue.
Choose which details to keep from each record. Green check marks show which fields are selected. You can pick items from both records. The third column shows a preview of the merged contact.
Click Next Step again to review the merged result. If everything looks correct, click Merge Now.
