Once you have created a Connect Widget in Text In Church, the next step is to add the widget script to your church website.
This article covers how to get your widget code and how to install it on six popular website platforms: Squarespace, Ministry Designs, WIX, WordPress, SubSplash, and ChurchCo.
Important: You must create a Connect Widget before installing it on your website. Click here to learn how to create a Connect Widget.
Getting Your Widget Code
To find your widget install code, navigate to Connect > Widgets in your Text In Church account and click the Link Your Website button.
From here you can copy the Code Snippet to your clipboard, or send the instructions to your web developer. The steps below show how to add the code for each platform.
Jump To
Squarespace
In Squarespace, add custom scripts to your whole site using the Code Injection area in Advanced Settings:
In the Home Menu, click Website, then under Utilities, click Website Tools, then Code Injection.
Paste the widget script into the Header Code Injection field. This applies the code to all pages.
Note: In Squarespace, secure protocols must be enabled for Text In Church Widgets to display on the mobile version of your website.
Ministry Designs
Log in to your Ministry Designs account.
Select Pages from the main menu.
Choose the page where you want the Widget.
Scroll down to Footer in the right-side panel and paste your code.
Click Save at the top.
WIX
Note: Only domain-connected WIX accounts can embed custom JavaScript on a webpage.
Option 1 - Via Dashboard Custom Code:
Log in to your Wix account.
Go to Settings > Development and Integrations > Custom Code.
Add the widget script to the Header.
Option 2 - Via HTML Block on a Page:
Log in and select Edit or Design Site.
Click + Add, then select Embed Code > Marketing Tools > Custom Code.
Choose Header, paste the widget script, name the element, select All pages, and click Apply.
Note: The button click trigger (#ticpopup) is not currently available for WIX users. WIX support may be able to help with a workaround.
WordPress
You have two options for adding the widget script to WordPress:
Option 1 - Use a Plugin:
Log in to WordPress and go to Plugins > Add New.
Search for Header and Footer Scripts.
Install and activate the plugin.
Paste the widget script into the Header field.
Save settings.
Option 2 - Directly in the Editor:
If you want to run JavaScript on a specific post or page, add your code in the Text view of the page editor.
SubSplash
Log in to your SubSplash website builder.
Open the Page Menu.
Go to Settings > Code.
Paste your widget code into the Header field for the desired page.
Click Save Settings in the upper right corner.
ChurchCo
Log in to your ChurchCo website builder.
Go to Add-ons and Integrations on the ChurchCo dashboard.
Find the Text In Church section.
Copy the Widget ID from your Connect Widget page in Text In Church.
Paste the Widget ID into the field and save.
