Understanding People Logs

Unlock insights with Church Text's new 'Logs' tab! Track profile changes, syncs, and group updates for a transparent view.

Written by Corey Piazza

The Logs tab in Text In Church gives you a full history of changes made to any person record. Whether a record was created manually, synced from an integration, added to a group, or updated by a staff member, the Logs tab captures it all. Note that comments on a person record can be viewed and edited directly from their profile, but comment edits are not tracked in the Logs tab.

Accessing the Logs Tab in Text In Church

Go to the People section and click on an individual name to open their profile. Then click the Logs tab.

What the Logs Include

The Logs tab captures:

  • Profile Creation: How and when the person was added to the system.

  • Updates: Modifications to their profile, including syncs from integrations, group membership changes, and other actions.

Limitations and Time Frame

  1. Start Date: Logs only show data from changes made on or after November 22, 2023. Events before this date will not appear.

  2. Data Retention: Log data is kept for 3 months. Older entries are automatically removed after that period.

Navigating the Logs

Log entries are displayed in chronological order. Each entry includes a timestamp and a brief description of the action taken.

Using Logs for Insights

The Logs tab helps admins and staff understand the history of a person engagement with your church. You can see when someone joined a group, when their record was synced, and how their profile has changed over time.
