A reply type is a message that goes out immediately after someone texts in a keyword to join a group. The reply type is what prompts the person to input contact information.

When someone texts in a keyword to join a group, you have the option of three reply types.  This reply goes out immediately after a person texts in the keyword to thank them and get additional information if desired.

The three reply types you can choose from are:  Simple, Basic, and Extended.  Each one gathers information from the person; the amount gathered depends on the type selected.

Simple gathers just their mobile phone number and does not send a link to ask for additional information with the initial response text message.

Basic sends the initial response text along with a digital connect card link that asks for their First Name, Last Name, Email, and auto populates the Mobile Number.

Extended does all that Basic does, while also asking for their mailing address.

To access these reply types, turn on and set up a keyword within your group. When selecting them, you will be prompted with a pop up asking if you want to use the recommended template that TIC provides.  If you choose not to start with the template, just make sure you use the code listed below within your message to get the unique digital connect card link to be sent.  For example {BASIC_DCC} is the code for the English version of the Basic connect card.

In an existing group, you can edit these by clicking on your group and then clicking on the gray pencil in the upper right corner.

From there, it will take you to a new page that will allow you to make changes to your group description, keyword, keyword automated reply type, keyword automated reply message, and custom comment field.

Here you’ll be able to click to select the Keyword Automated Reply Type you’d like to use for this group.

After you've selected a reply type, a pop up will appear asking if you want to reset the Automated Reply Message to the default message. After selecting “OK,” you can edit the default message as needed.

You can edit the reply message, but do not remove, edit or delete what is in the { }. That is our system code to be able to send a unique code to a connect card for each person record. Without this special code in brackets, no digital connect card will be sent. This code is unique for each person and so using the system code will ensure the data is connected to the right person record.

Never copy this code from your message history, but use {BASIC_DCC} for the Basic Connect Card, {BASICO_DCC} for the Spanish Basic Connect Card, {EXTENDED_DCC} for Extended Connect Card and {EXTENDIDO_DCC} for the Spanish Extended Connect Card. You can also use {SMART_CC} to insert the Smart Connect Card linked to this specific group.
